JP Rick is an emerging star. His work has gained the recognition of his audience and also professionals within the industry, who have pointed out a fresh approach to music and praised the innovative projects he has been able to undertake in the last year and continues to develop. Let’s hear from JP Rick himself and discover what this journey has been like for him. September 2023 marks the first anniversary of the artist’s first project, the single Less.
Who is JP Rick, in your own words?
I am an artist with a deep love of music and creativity in general. Since I was a child, I fell in love not just with music as a form of art but with art in general and the idea of being creative. Last year, I decided to embrace both my creativity and my music skills completely. It has worked out amazingly well, and I am still fully dedicated to working hard. I take music very seriously and work hard to be better at it. I live in NYC, and the city is honestly very important to me. I always introduce myself as a creative because of how much art and creativity matter to me.
Can you tell us about your musical projects?
For sure! I started releasing music a year ago, and my first project was Less. Less is a single that also has a music video now, available on my official YouTube channel. This was an amazing project that gave me a solid start in this field. I have been focusing all my efforts on music and beyond, and the music video came out only weeks after I dropped the single.
My most recent project is the single Arizona. It’s a love letter to this beautiful city, which I had the opportunity to visit. For me, it was the chance to transform my trip experience into art that could resonate with other people.
My upcoming music video will be for the track titled Bag. It’s going to be a lot of fun! The video for the track will be released alongside my new EP, Prometheus. It’s not only my newest release, but it’s also the first EP I am putting out. Prometheus is going to come after a few surprises, releases of new singles, and new videos. The one coming out next is the music video for Roll.
What helped you on your journey? Not everyone can succeed in a field as competitive as music!
I think the main thing, the strategy I have been using, is consistency. I believe that through consistent practice and dedication, you do get better. And if you work harder and are disciplined, you can achieve whatever you need. I also believe that you have to do what makes you happy. If you’re not, you are not truly living. I have been very fortunate to find what makes me happy. I hope others can find it, too.
