A Soundtrack for Everyday Imagination

The Shellies are a four-piece collective of singing songwriters who take inspiration from daily life, personal journeys and the places they imagine. Their songs bring together warm melodies, expressive group vocals and an approachable, handmade quality. Here n There, the band’s imaginative setting, gives its creative world a recognizable sense of place.

Among the recent singles are “Create Away,” “Sally Custard,” “A Little Bit of Fun,” “My Life Reprise” and “Life’s a Circus.” These titles represent just a selection from a wider catalogue, with each release adding another idea to the band’s musical landscape. “A Bit Like” reflects the Shellies’ interest in kindness, curiosity and emotional discovery.

The Shellies-5

Happiness, hope, artistic expression and a can-do attitude run through the group’s work. Its songs invite listeners to notice possibilities in familiar moments and enjoy the process of creating. The Shellies record at Dandelion Pie Studios, their home-built studio, where they can develop ideas in a setting shaped around their independent approach. Their music is available on Spotify, Apple Music and other major streaming platforms. Its music and visual work can speak to audiences of different ages.

Ways to Work with The Shellies

The group’s creative process brings musicians, producers, animators and visual artists into conversation. Songs can inspire characters, scenes or new visual ideas, while stories and illustrations can point toward future music. This exchange has helped the Shellies develop cartoons, videos, zines, illustrations and storytelling alongside their recordings.

The Shellies-3
  • Press and editors: The band’s story offers angles on independent music, a home-built studio, collaborative songwriting and the growth of a music project into a visual storytelling world. Its audience figures and video archive provide useful context for coverage.
  • Promoters and event organisers: The Shellies’ close vocals and upbeat material can suit intimate stages, community events and family-friendly programmes. Their colourful creative identity may also help shape an event with a music and arts focus.
  • Broadcasters and producers: Original songs and visual work offer starting points for interviews, features and potential projects connected to film, theatre or art. The band’s blend of music and storytelling gives producers several creative directions to explore.
  • Artists and creative partners: The group’s collaborative foundation welcomes new ideas involving animation, illustration, performance, zines and narrative. Partners can build from the Shellies’ existing world or help take it in a fresh direction.

The project’s wider creative range gives each partnership room to fit its audience and format. A live appearance, editorial feature or visual collaboration can foreground a different part of the band’s work while retaining its friendly, imaginative character. The Shellies’ catalogue provides a starting point for those conversations.
