Sean Trea’s Spellbinding Album ‘the fleece rabbit’ Blends Romance, Spirituality, and Surreal Adventure

With the fleece rabbit, Sean Trea invites listeners into a colorful wilderness shaped by affection, uncertainty, spiritual symbolism, and cinematic imagination. The Dallas artist’s latest album transforms personal emotions into a fantasy journey filled with unusual characters, striking locations, and questions about what it takes to keep moving forward.

Inside the Next Chapter of the Saga

Released on September 24, 2026, the fleece rabbit is Sean Trea’s third solo album. It also serves as the fifth entry in his continuing “a sinner is a caterpillar” saga. The record contains 15 explicit tracks and runs for 48 minutes and 21 seconds, giving Sean enough space to advance his fictional universe while exploring several intimate subjects.

The story begins shortly after MARTYR MiNiCRY, the previous album by Sean’s collective, CATERPILLARChildren. Following those events, Sean appears in the wilderness. The environment surrounding him feels vibrant, crowded, and almost impossibly colorful. Plants, animals, monuments, and natural formations cover the landscape with the energy of a living painting.

Among this visual chaos, he encounters a princess. The two find emotional comfort in one another and begin exploring WONDERNESS together. Their connection introduces themes of romance, pregnancy, sensuality, loyalty, and commitment. These subjects give the fantasy narrative a deeply human foundation.

Their journey changes when they meet Corinth the Rabbit, who assumes the role of a guide. Corinth directs them toward MOUNT OLIVES, the place where the NEW WORLD Sean has been seeking may finally be found. That destination becomes more than a physical location. It represents possibility, purpose, and the hope of reaching a different stage of life.

Fifteen Tracks With One Cinematic Direction

Rather than presenting the album as a collection of unrelated songs, Sean shapes its tracklist around a developing emotional and visual experience. “bunnyhop” opens the project with a nearly five-minute entry into its strange landscape. Its title immediately connects the music to the rabbit imagery that guides the wider story.

“fragments of the third,” “heavy heart,” and “the eyes of kira” bring a sense of emotional weight and observation. “panic space” follows with a shorter burst of pressure, while “sinner under the sun” strengthens the spiritual language surrounding Sean’s character. Even the track names feel like pieces of dialogue, private thoughts, or chapter markers from an animated film.

The middle of the album continues through “losing our patience” and “human conviction,” featuring itried2tellem. These songs point toward strained emotions and the determination required to remain committed during difficult circumstances. On “deus, maximus” and “original sin,” featuring mysoultru, religious imagery becomes central to the atmosphere.

“dog bite,” “disney romance irl,” and “beauty in the madness,” featuring ayrjordan, explore different shades of closeness and instability. The project then reaches the intense “pandemonium” before arriving at “fleece,” a five-minute closing track featuring monde. The finale gives the journey room to breathe while leaving enough mystery for its next installment.

Creativity Rooted in Childhood Storytelling

Long before releasing albums, Sean was already creating characters and directing stories. He began making YouTube videos when he was around nine or ten years old. His content included gaming clips, vlogs, and plush videos, where toys became actors in homemade movies.

As he entered his teenage years, his interest gradually shifted toward music. The change proved emotionally difficult, and Sean experienced a period when his imagination felt distant. Seeing young performers create memorable songs encouraged him to start recording at around 13 or 14.

Artists associated with the peak SoundCloud era helped shape that decision, including Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, and YNW Melly. Sean also found encouragement in musicians near his own age. Those early influences opened the door, while his identity eventually developed through a much wider mixture of sounds and visual references.

His creative world now draws heavily from anime, games, cinema, religion, and spirituality. Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Gurren Lagann, and the Bible all contribute to his artistic perspective. Their influence can be felt in his dramatic scale, symbolic characters, and fascination with transformation.

About the Artist

Sean Trea is an independent music and film artist based in Dallas. His work moves through experimental hip-hop and rap, alternative R&B, soul, indie, and hyperpop. He has also used the names SKINNY J, TREAVON, HYBRID, and TreyX, though Sean or Trea, pronounced “Trey,” represents him today.

His earlier catalog includes THE BACKROOMS, HORDING A TENSE EMOTION, Orchestra Of The Seraph: Tongue-tied Souls, and the SKINNY J mixtapes. While those projects are currently unavailable to the public, his recent work documents an increasingly focused creative period. Collaborators have included kt!, mysoultru, Lil Kashi, tazzie, and Waraiya, his personal VOCALOID. He also appeared on kt!’s albums bambi and butterfly.

Beyond the Wilderness

the fleece rabbit gives Sean Trea’s listeners another imaginative doorway into his growing mythology. A censored project title and December 27 release date have already been teased, suggesting that the journey toward the NEW WORLD still has more secrets to reveal.

We had the privilege of interviewing the artist. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

My name is Sean Trea, Trea is pronounced like Trey, the a’s basically silent. Some might know me as SKINNY J, TREAVON, HYBRID… TreyX for any OG fans… But Sean or Trea suffices nicely, though. I’m many things, but I’m mainly a music and film artist, with a knack for creative storytelling using religious contexts, spiritual concepts, and A LOT of inspiration from anime and video games like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy… Gurren Lagann. Can’t forget the Bible, one of the best anime out here.

Please tell us about your story/journey.

I started doing music when I was about 13 or 14, during the summer of my 7th grade year. This was when guys like Juice WRLD, Trippie Redd, Lil Uzi Vert, YNW Melly… Essentially like peak SoundCloud for me. Before I even picked up a mic, I was a YouTuber. I made gaming videos, IRL videos (Vlogs), but I mainly specialized in making Plush videos, which, if you don’t know, is where you take ya toys and grab a camera and just make movies with ’em. I was doing that from like 9 or 10 years old all the way up to 13, I think. I stopped really doing those kinds of videos because I was getting older, y’know? I started focusing more on teenage things, and playing with toys wasn’t really on my “to-do list” anymore. Once I kinda made that transition from YouTube to music, it was hard. I got really depressed during that transitional moment in my life. My imagination was super low; I wasn’t really storytelling like that… I kinda felt like I lost my Nen, on some Hunter X Hunter shit. Funny enough, I really decided to pick up a microphone when I saw dudes around my age making pretty catchy music, like Melly’s younger brother, YNW BSlime. Even dudes a little older than me, like Tootie Raww and Lil Blurry… Granted, I don’t listen to any of those guys anymore, but without their music, I can’t really say if I’d be doing this whole music thing.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Honestly, just dropping music. I’m never really on hiatus for too long, but when I am, I’m usually behind the scenes working on something music- or film-related. Connections are also a big thing as well, keeping close tabs with collaborators and just keeping your energy entangled with your craft.

Any message for our readers.

Go follow me on everything! @seanxtrea is my username on basically every social media platform, and it’s Sean Trea on every music platform. Check out my brothers I’m constantly working with–Shoutout mysoultru, Lil Kashi, ayrjordan… Last record before ZEXAL releases on my birthday, so lock in!

Thank you so much, Sean Trea, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
