The hours after sunset can make ordinary life feel cinematic. On his debut mixtape, ‘Nights in the Future,’ Dee Martin steps into that atmosphere with stories of desire, celebration, uncertainty, and emotional escape.
Released on October 16, 2026, the 10-track project runs for 25 minutes and 22 seconds. It introduces Dee as a new age hip hop and R&B artist whose creative outlook has been shaped by faith, travel, multiple cultures, and years spent searching for a clearer sense of identity.
When Nightlife Becomes a Story
Dee built ‘Nights in the Future’ around the life he once pictured for himself. In his imagination, night becomes a place filled with friends, romance, parties, money, fast decisions, and unexpected turns. The concept feels like a Hollywood movie unfolding after dark, with each song capturing another scene in a larger personal story.
There’s excitement throughout that picture. A night might begin with Dee spending time with a girl and her friends, enjoying the energy around them while wondering where the relationship could lead. Love, temptation, betrayal, heartbreak, and redemption can all emerge before morning. Breaking rules and confronting consequences also belong to this world, giving the mixtape a sense of movement and risk.

The title track, ‘Nights,’ represents the full experience most clearly. Dee sees it as a concentrated version of the entire mixtape, bringing its setting, mood, and emotional direction together in one song. Its position as the final track gives the release a fitting destination after the events and feelings explored earlier.
‘Sober’ opens the project from a more vulnerable place. The song considers how people may rely on substances to escape their daily reality. Temporary relief can create the feeling that everything will be fine, even while fear and uncertainty continue beneath the surface. Dee uses the song to examine that repeating cycle and the private panic of trying to create a satisfying life.

Ten Tracks Built Around Changing Emotions
The mixtape moves through a compact tracklist that includes ‘Sober,’ ‘Masseuse,’ ‘PLM,’ ‘Wicked,’ ‘Touch It,’ ‘Marylin Monroe,’ ‘Passenger Princess,’ ‘Spinning,’ ‘Wrong,’ and ‘Nights.’ These titles suggest different encounters and emotional states within the release’s nighttime setting.
Producer Sigo2x contributed to the project, while Yungjosh93 appears on ‘Wicked.’ Their involvement supports Dee’s first complete mixtape and marks an important stage in his development. The project gives him room to bring together rapping, singing, beat-driven ideas, and the many musical influences he’s encountered over the years.

His perspective comes from wanting listeners to accept him as he is. Dee hopes to enjoy life, express himself freely, and connect with people who face their own emotional struggles. He often smiles and makes jokes, though he has also felt as if life has taken away some of his joy. Music offers a route back toward that feeling.
He believes listeners may help him feel whole again and rediscover how to love openly. That desire gives the mixtape a deeper purpose beyond its nightlife imagery. The parties and relationships carry personal meaning because they reflect his need for companionship, understanding, and a place where he can live honestly.
About Artist Dee Martin
Dee Martin was born in Cabinda, Angola, and is now based in Houston, Texas. He moved to Houston at nine and left at thirteen. At fourteen, he relocated to Windhoek, Namibia, where he remained until nineteen while frequently traveling between Namibia and Angola. He returned to Houston at twenty-one.
Portuguese is his first language, with English becoming part of his life through his years abroad. Houston represents a particularly formative place for Dee because he associates the city with some of his most important years of self-discovery. His time in Namibia also expanded his musical interests through South African house music and kwaito.

Dee began learning music at fourteen through his religion. He studied composition and singing while learning guitar, piano, trumpet, and alto horn. His experience also gave him the ability to play a range of brass instruments. At twenty, he started producing beats, and by twenty-five, he was actively developing his skills in rapping and singing.
Freestyling has always come naturally to him, as has finding creative ways to express an idea. Dee now wants to combine his musical knowledge through consistent work and build a sound that feels fresh. His primary goal remains simple: to keep improving and become the strongest artist he can be.
Where the Journey Leads Next
‘Nights in the Future’ captures Dee during a period of exploration, with his past experiences meeting the future he continues to imagine. Through its late-night scenes and honest reflections, the mixtape presents an emerging artist ready to turn a life of varied influences into a voice of his own.
