The popular artist GRIPPA is releasing her new single, Crash, the first release of her upcoming EP, Is That Her? Both are set to be released on March 31, 2023.
Crash is the culmination of a cycle of six songs that chronicle a person’s journey through a breakup, with this song completing that journey. Crash is about going from not existing to starting over, to the spark igniting once more. The song is a rollercoaster of emotions that take the audience from sad to happy to wondering because some relationships cannot be avoided, even if they are deeply imperfect.
Is That Her? will be the first EP released by Grippa, although it is far from her first release overall. The project was made with producer YX and is meant to express a difficult time in the artist’s life, something that many are sure to relate to.
GRIPPA adds her unique perspective on growing up for a generation accustomed to the stranger things in life. Most people, after all, have the experience of breaking up with somebody.
This artist combines a bubblegum pop, edgy aesthetic that is still deeply authentic and willing to explore the hard truths, the things that can really hurt. Her lyrics can be hard-hitting and explicit, but there is an undeniable truth to each of them. GRIPPA wants to dig deep and explore things honestly, which creates a sense of duality and tension between the extreme of chaos and youth versus depth and discovery. Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, I’m an artist, singer and songwriter. I first started out with no “topics” to write about, so I was kind of stuck with that, but then when I went through my first breakup (which was the hardest thing I’ve gone through in my life yet), I finally had some music and lyrics that I really wanted to share with the world.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey as an artist?
Working really hard is one of them as well as being willing to do whatever it takes to reach your goal.
