Rev. Carpenter spent years writing and directing films. He discovered that novels could bring his cinematic visions to life without the massive budgets and endless waiting. So he created The Invisible Order of Immortal Nobodies, then jumped into Witches Gotta Burn!, the second installment in the Immortal Nobodies Saga. He’s an Ordained Metaphysical Minister with a love for eerie, comedic storytelling. Occult themes, cinematic flair, and an irreverent sense of humor light up his pages. He layers in cosmic dread, then breaks the tension with laughs—he wants readers to enjoy the ride.
A High School Full of Secrets
Sunvalley High looks like any standard school—bustling hallways, familiar cliques, and teachers with watchful eyes. There’s a curious energy humming beneath its floors, though. Students pass by without guessing that ancient forces lurk behind those locker doors. Jake, Max, and Nat appear typical, yet they’re on the cusp of a discovery that redefines reality. They cross paths with a slightly unhinged occult specialist named Irvin Ajax. He’s got a personal mission to unearth secrets nobody else dares to touch.
Their routines shift when they uncover a sinister plan that shakes their beliefs. Principal Pickering, admired and feared, has intentions beyond tardy slips. She’s determined to bring the demon goddess Lilith back, fueled by hidden knowledge…and she’s got the means to do it.
Unleashing Lilith on a World on the Brink
Jake, Max, and Nat form an unlikely trio, thrown together by a cosmic twist. They race to decode a forgotten celestial ritual—one designed to yank Lilith from her realm. Anyone who’s heard of Lilith can guess the danger. She’s chaos incarnate, hungry for destruction. Their only guide is Irvin Ajax, that eccentric soul with dusty tomes and a thirst for the uncanny. He warns them that once Lilith bursts into our world, everything changes. Sunvalley High morphs into ground zero for supernatural havoc, overshadowing grades and gossip.
Principal Pickering’s plan is deliberate. She etches bizarre symbols in hidden rooms and collects forbidden manuscripts, inching closer to unleashing Lilith. Jake, Max, and Nat stumble over cryptic clues that twist their perception of normal. Friendship keeps them going, with comedic misfires popping up even in dire moments. The story blends laughter and dread in a head-spinning mix—one minute you’re snorting with amusement, the next you’re gasping in fear.
Jake, Max, Nat, and Irvin unite with a shaky blend of bravery and makeshift magic. They confront an ancient evil itching to swallow the world’s light. A single misstep could unleash utter chaos. Each choice drags them deeper into a nightmare they never asked for but can’t run from.
Witches Gotta Burn! by Author Rev. Carpenter overflows with diabolical plans, chilling showdowns, and unexpected gags. Lilith reigns as a terrifying force, yet the comedic edge keeps panic from boiling over. The Immortal Nobodies appear in different eras and locations, always defending humanity from lurking horrors. In this book, they clash with a threat capable of tipping the balance between natural and supernatural realms.
A Thrill Ride You Won’t Forget
Witches Gotta Burn! tosses readers into a wild fusion of magic and mayhem. One scene brims with witty banter, another drips pure terror. The characters are ordinary folks stumbling into extraordinary roles—Jake, Max, and Nat are just teenagers, but they stand up when it counts. Irvin Ajax adds a dash of madness, cheering them on while brandishing arcane knowledge that might save the day.
The tone flips between hilarity and nail-biting suspense. This isn’t gentle comedy, either—some gags are so outrageous they’ll have you peeing your pants with laughter…then crapping them in fear. Sunvalley High’s corridors hide the stuff of nightmares, but a spark of hope persists in the hearts of these misfits. Their determination leaps off the page, reminding everyone that unity and courage can outshine even the darkest threat.
This saga is a nonstop plunge into cosmic stakes, haunted hallways, and jaw-dropping showdowns. Readers glimpse how everyday life collides with sinister powers from beyond. Each twist cranks up the tension, but comedic moments give room to breathe. Witches Gotta Burn! invites fans of supernatural thrills to hop on a roller coaster that tosses them between shrieking terror and uncontrollable laughter.
When you enter this realm, you’re stepping into a story where the line between funny and frightening blurs. Lilith, Principal Pickering, and the Immortal Nobodies converge to defend what matters most. It’s a high-stakes ride that dares readers to turn the next page and plunge even deeper into the madness.
We had the privilege of interviewing the Filmmaker and Author, Rev. Carpenter. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.
My name’s Rev. Carpenter. I’m an author and filmmaker. After many years of writing and directing screenplays and having a stack of screenplays waiting to get made, I decided to make them into novels as it’s a quicker and reasonably easier process. The Invisible Order of Immortal Nobodies and WITCHES GOTTA BURN! are just the first two of many. The first two are also a series of a third book I’m working on now, which involves the stories of the Immortal Nobodies across different times and places but all with the same underlying mission: to combat evil forces and restore balance to humanity.
Please tell us about your journey.
I started writing and directing films about 14 years ago and have experienced a pretty successful career doing so, but getting films budgeted and greenlit takes many years, so about two years ago, I decided to start turning my film ideas into novels as I don’t have to rely on big budgets and hundreds of people to do so, it’s just me and my laptop. Because of this, I now have a constant creative outlet where I can see my films come to life, though it’s now just the reader who’s participating in the creation of the worlds, which is actually more powerful, in my opinion.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
As a screenplay writer and film director, I spent over a decade studying the art of storytelling, and the structure and components that have to go into a story to make it resonate and meaningful. But above all, I’ve been a student of metaphysics and symbology for as long as I can remember, which has helped me incorporate much deeper aspects to my stories, often talking about many theological and philosophical themes.
Any message for our readers
I wrote WITCHES GOTTA BURN! to give the middle finger to all the modern-day institutions trying to make good to be evil and evil to be good. It’s a crazy ride told through the eyes of an eclectic group of individuals who aren’t afraid to stand up to what’s right and fight the forces of evil no matter how powerful and outnumbered they may seem.
Thank you so much, Rev. Carpenter, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
