‘Thank You, I Deserve It’ by Author Mouza Alhebsi Will Help You Own Your Greatness

Owning Your Brilliance: Celebrating Without Apology

Ever caught yourself shrinking your presence or brushing off praise as though your achievements were merely accidental? It’s an all-too-familiar scenario, particularly among women who often face the subtle expectation to keep their brilliance low-key. M.A. Al Hebsi, through her inspiring book, Thank You, I Deserve It, encourages readers to stop minimizing their gifts and instead fully embrace them without apology.

Al Hebsi, an Emirati woman blending engineering prowess with profound spiritual insights, intimately understands the tension between fully expressing oneself and maintaining societal approval. Through her journey, she vividly illustrates the power of acknowledging all your talents—not as something to hide, but as strengths to cherish and celebrate openly.

Your Gifts Are Your Strength

M A Al Hebsi Thank You I Deserve It 2

At the core of Al Hebsi’s message is the powerful reminder that your talents—whether beauty, intelligence, compassion, creativity, or ambition—aren’t random occurrences. These qualities represent your personal journey and growth, meaningful manifestations of your soul’s path. Embracing them isn’t about feeding the ego; it’s about aligning with your true essence and purpose.

With compelling narratives from her life and those around her, Al Hebsi offers concrete examples of how society encourages subtle forms of self-suppression. Perhaps you’ve disguised your intellect to blend in or downplayed your accomplishments to avoid appearing boastful. Al Hebsi challenges readers to reflect deeply on these tendencies, guiding them through exercises that uncover and dismantle internal barriers to self-acceptance.

Navigating Expectations with Grace

One of the strongest features of Thank You, I Deserve It is how it addresses the intricate dance between societal expectations and self-expression. Al Hebsi provides insightful strategies for gracefully managing cultural pressures and external judgments. She dives into subjects like beauty standards, workplace competition, and even the complexities of female friendships, illustrating how these external factors subtly influence our willingness to shine fully.

Through honest discussions and practical activities, the author helps readers navigate reactions from those who may feel uncomfortable or intimidated by their confidence. Rather than stepping back, Al Hebsi encourages stepping forward with empathy and strength, offering tools for effectively communicating boundaries while maintaining genuine relationships.

Transforming Acceptance into Empowerment

The book’s greatest strength lies in turning the concept of self-acceptance into empowerment—not just for the individual but for their community. Al Hebsi emphasizes the transformative power of embracing your brilliance fully. When you openly acknowledge your gifts, you unconsciously give others permission to do the same, creating an empowering cycle that benefits everyone around you.

Al Hebsi masterfully connects personal growth with community upliftment. Your success and confidence don’t isolate you—they inspire others. Your authenticity creates ripple effects, allowing those in your circle to recognize and embrace their own gifts.

The journey of embracing your talents also involves shedding false humility. The simple affirmation—”Thank you, I deserve it”—is a cornerstone of Al Hebsi’s approach. This isn’t merely a statement; it’s a revolutionary practice designed to shift perspectives from discomfort to confidence. Al Hebsi urges readers to incorporate this affirmation into their daily lives until acknowledging their brilliance feels as natural as breathing.

Your Permission to Shine

If you’ve ever hesitated to fully claim your achievements or felt guilty for standing out, Thank You, I Deserve It will resonate deeply. Al Hebsi offers more than just encouragement—she provides a blueprint to a more authentic, vibrant existence. She invites readers to stop viewing their strengths as liabilities and start recognizing them as powerful, purposeful parts of their identity.

Al Hebsi’s gentle yet firm guidance, grounded in real-world scenarios and thoughtful reflections, helps you dismantle the internal beliefs that hold you back. The journey toward self-acceptance is filled with revelation, healing, and ultimately, celebration.

As you turn the pages, you’ll find a sense of liberation—freedom from the weight of expectations and the joy of stepping into your fullest potential. Your talents aren’t burdens; they’re beacons guiding both you and others toward growth and fulfillment.

Ultimately, Al Hebsi’s message is clear: your gifts were always meant to be recognized, celebrated, and shared generously. No more apologies, no more shrinking. Your brilliance deserves acknowledgment. Stand tall, speak proudly, and say without hesitation, “Thank you, I deserve it.”

We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Thank you so much for joining us today!

Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

I’m Mouza Alhebsi, an Emirati engineer and author of “Thank You, I Deserve It: Embracing Your Gifts Without Apology.” I work in a specialized engineering field where women are rare, which taught me about navigating spaces that expect you to fragment yourself to fit in. Now I help people—especially women—embrace their complete selves without apology, showing them they can be both beautiful and brilliant, successful and spiritual.

Please tell us about your journey.

My journey began when I realized I’d spent years diminishing myself to make others comfortable. As someone with both beauty and technical expertise, I constantly heard comments like “How did someone so pretty end up in engineering?” So I fragmented myself—dimming my appearance to be taken seriously professionally, and downplaying my expertise socially.

The turning point came after attending an “Authentic Speaker” course. I sat with myself and realized that by diminishing my gifts to appease others’ insecurities, I wasn’t serving anyone. That reflection led to writing my book—understanding that our wholeness isn’t threatening, it’s healing.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

The Sacred Pause: Before reacting to others’ assumptions, I learned to pause and respond from wisdom rather than emotion.

Reframing My Gifts: I stopped seeing my qualities as conflicting and started understanding them as complementary expressions of divine energy.

Understanding Triggers: When people reacted negatively to my gifts, I learned their response revealed their wounds, not my unworthiness.

Practicing “Thank You, I Deserve It”: These five words rewired my brain from unworthiness to deservingness.

Integration Over Balance: Instead of compartmentalizing myself, I practiced allowing all my qualities to exist simultaneously.

Any message for our readers

You were born worthy—by design. Stop apologizing for your light and stop fragmenting yourself to fit others’ expectations. Your complete, authentic self isn’t too much—it’s exactly what the world needs.

Whether you’re blessed with beauty, intelligence, creativity, or any other gift—embrace them fully. Your gifts aren’t random; they reflect energy you’ve cultivated throughout your soul’s journey.

To young women: refuse the false choices society imposes. Be both beautiful and brilliant, ambitious and kind. Your abundance doesn’t create others’ lack—when you shine, you reveal what’s possible for everyone.

Say it with me: “Thank you. I deserve it.”

Thank you so much, Mouza Alhebsi, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
