Meet the Poet: Dr. Lalit Mohan Narula
Dr. Narula’s journey is as fascinating as his poetry. A retired medical professional from New Delhi, India, he devoted much of his life to providing free medical care to those in need. His dedication to healing extended beyond the physical; he sought to understand the mind and spirit as well.
Regular visits to bookstores became a gateway to exploring psychology, astrology, palmistry, dark matter, science, and philosophy. He immersed himself in these subjects, spending countless hours until he achieved clarity and mastery.
Dr. Narula’s diverse knowledge base enriches his poetry, infusing it with insights from various disciplines. His understanding of both the conscious and unconscious mind, coupled with his grasp of cosmic influences, allows him to weave complex themes into accessible verses.
He also maintains a website and blog where he shares articles and poems that challenge conventional thinking. His writings often stir thoughtful discussions and offer fresh perspectives on psychological, astrological, and biological topics.
The Essence of “Pearls of Poetry”
What sets “Pearls of Poetry“ apart is its ability to convey deep truths in a way that feels personal and relatable. Dr. Narula believes that poetry is the language of the heart—a medium that expresses multi-layered truths symbolically and rhythmically.
In his own words from the back cover blurb:
“The language of the heart is poetry. The truth, which is multi-layered and difficult to express in an ordinary language, comes automatically, symbolically, in rhymes and one wonders how. The beauty of it comes only afterwards. Its subjectivity is expressed objectively.”
His poems often emerge during moments when “the intellect is on the shelf,” allowing for a pure expression of emotion and insight. This approach results in poetry that feels both intimate and universal.

I hold a dual belief in both fate and free will. Since my college graduation, I have consistently nurtured my passion for writing, initially producing scattered pieces. Recently, I have embarked on a journey of organizing my thoughts and writings into structured books and articles. My kind and humble nature reflects my genuine desire to witness positive outcomes in the world.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I am a firm believer in truth and assert that comprehending one’s genuine self and emotions poses the greatest challenge. I emphasize that once this understanding is attained, it leads to a profound transformation, enabling individuals to transcend into their inner selves and beliefs, thereby achieving a heightened state of consciousness.
Any message for our readers?
Intellect and intuition stand in stark contrast as cognitive processes. Picture them as polar opposites on a spectrum. Recognizing when one is dominant and the other is dormant is crucial for understanding how our minds function.
