Why Inegogo Fubara’s ‘Relocation the Right Way’ Is Essential Reading Before You Move Abroad

A family’s first morning in a new country brings ordinary questions with unfamiliar answers. Where will the children attend school? How will the household manage its expenses? What comes next for a parent’s career?

Inegogo Fubara explores the preparation behind those questions in Relocation the Right Way: A Practical Guide to Planning Your Move Abroad with Confidence and Avoiding Costly Mistakes. Her book helps prospective movers consider the life they’ll need to organise around their decision to relocate.

Looking Beyond the Departure Date

A departure date gives a relocation plan a visible destination. The decisions leading up to it, however, can shape a family’s circumstances for years. Housing, work, immigration responsibilities, and financial commitments each deserve careful consideration.

Inegogo approaches these subjects through a combination of personal experience, research, and lessons drawn from difficult decisions. With particular attention to the United Kingdom, she encourages readers to explore what their chosen pathway requires and where it could lead.

That approach is useful when the pressure to move feels urgent. Advice from others may influence expectations, while gaps in information can leave important questions unanswered. Research creates room for a more considered decision.

The book invites individuals, couples, and families to examine their goals closely. They’re encouraged to think about the practical demands of their plans, the resources available to them, and the responsibilities they’ll carry after arrival. This longer view helps give the excitement of relocation a workable direction.

Making Room for Work, Family, and Daily Life

Life abroad takes shape through daily routines. A household needs somewhere to live, access to healthcare, a manageable budget, and an understanding of how local services operate. These details can influence how confidently newcomers settle into their surroundings.

Choosing accommodation is one example. A home’s location connects with employment opportunities, school access, and everyday expenses. The book encourages readers to research where they intend to live and consider how that choice fits their wider circumstances.

For parents, education deserves early attention. Understanding schools and catchment areas can inform housing decisions, while preparing children for a new country helps families give thought to the changes ahead. Their adjustment forms an important part of the relocation journey.

Career planning also needs patience and realism. Finding employment and adapting to workplace culture may involve unfamiliar expectations. Inegogo discusses the possibility of starting again professionally, helping readers consider the effort and preparation that such a transition could require.

There’s a financial side to that adjustment as well. The cost of living, household responsibilities, and the time needed to establish an income all affect a family’s plans. Looking carefully at these areas before departure can help prospective movers recognise commitments that deserve further research.

The guide also considers healthcare arrangements and settling into a new community. Together, these subjects bring attention to the everyday foundations of a sustainable life. Readers can use them to identify questions, investigate their options, and prepare with a clearer understanding of their needs.

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

My name is Inegogo Fubara. I am a lawyer, compliance professional, and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), specialising in financial crime prevention. I am also an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ACIS), and I was recognised as the Best Student in Corporate Administration during my qualifying examinations. In addition, I work as a Complex Case Resolution Specialist and Front Door Navigator within adult social welfare, supporting individuals with complex needs to access appropriate services and support. I am also the author of Relocation, The Right Way, a practical guide for individuals and families preparing to relocate abroad.

Please tell us about your journey.

My relocation journey began when I moved to the United Kingdom as a widowed mother. Starting over came with emotional, financial, and practical challenges. Through that experience, I learned that determination alone is not enough—successful relocation requires research, preparation, realistic expectations, and a clear long-term strategy.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

The key strategies were planning ahead, researching thoroughly, managing finances carefully, staying open to learning, and making informed decisions rather than acting on pressure or incomplete information. My faith, resilience, and willingness to adapt also played an important role.

Any message for our readers.

Relocation is more than obtaining a visa or arriving in a new country. It is a major life transition that requires preparation and purpose. Before you move, understand the realities, plan for the unexpected, and think beyond your first day. Turn your dream into a strategy.

Thank you so much, Inegogo Fubara, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
