We had the pleasure of interviewing the artist. Here are excerpts from the interview.
Hi, It’s great to have you with us today! Please tell us about what it is that you do.
Hi, I’m “Mafia Fetti”. I’m a 27-year-old hip-hop lyricist, musician & producer born and raised in New Jersey. I always wrote poetry as a child, but that quickly turned into a love for the art of hip-hop once I found it at 4 or 5 years old. When I was 4-5 years old, I remember loving “The Message” by “Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5” & “Slick Rick” When he did “Childrens Story,” I learned how to turn on “106 & Park” & “Rap City” with the cable box before I knew how to put on cartoons, so I have always had a love for this culture, and I’ve fully engulfed myself in it. I’ve been writing lyrics for a little over ten years now, but I started to take music more seriously this past year. I still rap because I love it, but now I notice the responsibility I have as an artist to make music that people can enjoy or confide in when they’re in a dark place. Music can be like therapy & it is for me.
