Luchi is based in Glasgow, Scotland, where he grew up. He comes from an Italian family and has worked on his craft since he was a kid. At 13, he was writing songs, and at 16, he was visiting studios to begin recording his music. 2017 marked the beginning of his independent music releases. Don’t Look Back, his first single hit the charts and took the music scene by storm, being featured in the top 10 charts on iTunes for Singer/Songwriter. In addition to this, Luchi has worked with other rising stars to help their debut projects and has developed his craft through writing camps featuring top artists like Katy Perry and Celine Dion, among many others.
Luchi made it to the regional heats of the UK Unsigned Songwriter competition in 2016, coming in second, and also was a semi-finalist in the UK Songwriting Contest. The artist has also been mentored by other popular singers, like Ne-Yo and Charlie XCX, at the Los Angeles Academy for Artists & Music Production.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Luchi. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your journey.
Hi, I’m a singer and songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. My journey has been a long old road. I started writing songs at about 13 years old and have been working on my craft since then. I started visiting studios from aged 18 to learn about production and did loads of demos to explore my sound etc. Then when I moved to London, I started networking with loads of music people, and after a few labels were interested in signing me, I took the decision to stay independent as I wanted to have more control over where my music went. I started releasing music in 2017 independently and have been working away ever since. There’s been highs and lows and everything in between, but I’m so lucky that I get to work with amazing people, write great songs and have fun while doing it all.
Please tell us about your latest release, “Things He Handed Down.”
This was one of those songs that wrote itself, really. In about 15 minutes after hearing the piano part my collaborator Jiro sent me, I had the song written. He lives in Japan, so I had the initial demo finished by the time he woke up the next day. It just flowed out of me and came from my inner child. It’s about generational abuse and trauma in families and explores the things that are handed down through generations, and questions why this happens. When I listened back to the song the first time, I was so proud and felt really emotional for the child inside me. I have been able to work through a lot of my traumas, and I feel this song is giving a voice to my inner child. This song is one that is from my inner child to any other person that suffered abuse and hopefully makes them feel less alone. The thinking behind releasing it on Father’s Day is that it isn’t always a happy day for everyone, and a lot of memories can be triggered, so again, I wanted people to not feel so alone on a day that can often come with a lot of emotions good and bad.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I’d say that being authentic and vulnerable is the reason people relate to my music. Also, I have a clear vision of where I want to be and how I want to get there, so I think having that direction helps a lot. Finally, I think it’s consistency. I keep going even when the chips are down, and I think that my fans know that when I deliver a new song, I have put my heart and soul into it.
