We had the pleasure of interviewing Danny Wilson, Author of Yesterday’s Hero. Here are the excerpts from the interview.
Hi Danny, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your book, Yesterday’s Hero.
Hi, I am from Greenville, North Carolina, and I presently reside in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Yesterday’s Hero is about finding worthwhile moments within a complex life. It is about allowing for self-expression and taking personal responsibility for each individual life.
Please tell us more about your journey.
I spent almost 8 years in The United States Marines, and I retired from The United States Army in 2008. I first started to write poetry in 1992, and I realized that writing poetry helped me to deal with being out of The Marines after Desert Storm(1991). When I retired from The Army, I relocated to Topeka, Kansas(2009). I rediscovered poetry and discovered e-books during my early retirement. I initially started writing about the people that lived around me, and one thing led to another. I finished my last e-book of poetry in 2020/2021. Thus far, I have written over 100 e-books of poetry. This journey has taken over 9 years to complete.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
I believe God(The Higher Power) has led me to write over 100 e-books in the last 9 years. I feel my poetry will change the world and inspire people in the process. The military taught me to be passionate about work every single day. If you make mistakes in the process, just keep your head down. I was given a good education in Catholic School and had relatives that were farmers in North Carolina. They instilled a love of work and respect for God and my fellow man/woman.
Any message for our readers?
I would like to say that anything is “possible” if you honor God, have passion, respect others, and take it one day at a time. Mistakes are “opportunities” to learn and grow. I believe that we must do all that we can and then must “allow” God to do the rest.
Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about your book?
My e-book can be found on Barnes & Nobles. I am currently on TikTok(Last Poet 24). I would like to thank all of your readers for their time. I firmly believe the last 3 years will ultimately bring the world closer together. We must have thoughtful discussions even as we disagree. The 2 most “powerful” words are love and respect. It is my “pleasure” to “connect” with your kind readers. Be Blessed….Danny.
Thank you so much, Danny, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
