Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us about what you do.

Hi, I’m an award-winning author, entrepreneur, and proud new dad of identical twin boys. I’ve been out of prison for 10 months, and in that time, I married the love of my life, welcomed identical twin boys into the world, signed a 7-book deal with my publishers, launched SNIFF: Book 1 of The SNIFF, SMOKE, SHOOT Series, and launching UpCup Koffee, a functional mushroom coffee-UpCupKoffee.com. Between babies, books, and business, life’s a balancing act, but I thrive in chaos. I write gritty crime thrillers that bring the raw, real-life struggle to the page.

Please tell us about your book.

SNIFF is the first book in my series SNIFF, SMOKE, SHOOT—SNIFF isn’t just your typical crime thriller; it’s a gritty, no-holds-barred journey through survival, betrayal, and redemption. It takes you deep into Bank Robbin’ Dave’s world, where loyalty’s fragile and every decision could end your life. This story dives into more than just action—it’s about human struggle, trust, and second chances, all wrapped in a mess of consequences. SNIFF keeps it real, blending high-stakes crime with raw emotional depth, serving readers a story that’s both heart-pounding and thought-provoking.

Please tell us about your journey.

My journey has been full of highs and lows, but it’s the lows that shaped me the most. I started out as an entrepreneur, building businesses in real estate, nightclubs, and even the African diamond trade. But life caught up with me, and I found myself in federal prison for tax evasion and wire fraud. It was there, in those dark times, that I discovered my passion for writing. 

Prison gave me something I never had before—clarity. I was determined to come out of prison the best human being I could possibly be. And I make up my mind to be a #1 Bestselling author in the NY Times Bestseller list. 

I started writing SNIFF on the backs of cracker boxes while in solitary confinement. Pouring everything I had into the stories I wrote. Writing became my escape, my lifeline. I never ran out of inspiration. I was surrounded by it in prison. Every kind of story imaginable. I took those stories, combined them with stories of my own in my books.

When I got out 10 months ago, I hit the ground running. I didn’t waste time. My past might be gritty, but it’s part of who I am. Now, I’ve turned that grit into something meaningful—my writing. 

SNIFF is more than just a book; it reflects my journey of redemption, second chances, and the drive to keep pushing forward no matter how often life knocks you down. Life is chaotic, with four boys, two identical newborns, two daughters, a new wife, the book launch, and a new business, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s all part of the journey, and I’m just getting started.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Resilience, authenticity, and the right mindset have been key. You can’t let your past dictate your future, and that’s something I live by. I’ve learned how to balance my responsibilities as a father, husband, entrepreneur, and author while staying true to my journey. Surrounding myself with a solid team and staying focused on long-term goals has also helped me turn what could’ve been a downfall into a success story.

Your past doesn’t define you—what you do next does. I’ve been at the bottom and fought my way back up. No matter where you are in life, there’s always room for redemption, growth, and transformation. So, chase your dreams relentlessly.
