Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

My name is Shylo B (real name Shymik Bradshaw). I am a guitarist, songwriter, producer, and music lover.

Please tell us about your latest Single.

My latest Single, “New Beginnings,” is my debut single as an independent artist. This song is for the musicians out there who care about instrumentation. It is guitar-focused with a nice solid EDM/Hip-Hop backing track. It is not just a 3-minute guitar solo. The guitar carries the melody that vocals would on a regular song. I’ve never really been able to sing, so this was a great way to get my melodic ideas out there without synths or hiring someone to sing for me.

Please tell us about your journey.

My music journey started in middle school when I joined a band. I always knew that I loved music, but being in a band really opened my eyes to great music and composition. Being in a band, I learned to play the clarinet as well as multiple percussive instruments. During my time in middle school learning music theory, I picked up a guitar and never looked back. I used the guitar to put the music theory into practice on my own time. Fast forward to college, I accidentally became a ghost writer/producer when I wrote some songs for some bands at a local studio near my college. From there, my name pretty much spread by word of mouth, and I got to work with some great people on some really cool tracks. Now, I’m trying to make it on my own, with my own sound and ideas.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I believe the one thing that has helped me really is knowing that I don’t know everything and continually learning and taking advice from everyone around me, then taking that advice/ knowledge and putting it into practice on upcoming projects.
