Miss Olivia & The Interlopers offer listeners a distinctive, solid vision. There is a strong spirit there, one that keeps evolving and growing, even if the band experiments with sound and evolves to be something even bigger and better.

Who are The Interlopers? The frontwoman is Olivia Reardon, vocalist extraordinaire. She is joined by David Hostetler, a bassist recognized for his nuanced approach to the craft and solid performances. Miss Olivia & The Interlopers is an outfit that has both heart and craft and mixes the two to create an amazing result. Their influences are very broad, ranging from Erykah Badu, Led Zeppelin, The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, St. Vincent, Lake Street Dive, and Durand Jones to many more bands and performers, and these versatile influences provide a solid range of sound that distinguishes Miss Olivia & The Interlopers from others.

This band is based in Tucson, and their versatile style has allowed them to perform at a variety of venues, from trendy Downtown scenes like the Revel Wine Bar, as well as the Tap and the Bottle. This outfit is a regular part of the Second Saturdays Downtown events held at the Fox Tucson Theatre. They also frequently perform at fundraisers and host special events, where Olivia Reardon combines her unique skills as a musician and her abilities as a bartender. A recent example was the Sazerac Week, where Miss Olvia & The Interlopers played the Parish and the Delta.

This is a band that is sure to thrill those looking for a little vintage flavor in their music, for soulful and strong performances, and for music that continuously evolves and improves. With a unique blend of rock, blues, and soul, this funky outfit is sure to attract many people who want quality indie artists who perform from the heart and who never let the quality of their work drop an inch. We had the pleasure of interviewing the brilliant band members. Here are the excerpts from the interview:

Hi, It’s great to have you with us today! Please tell us about your musical journey.

Hi, we’ve all had lots of people who inspired us, but as far as a career in music, it is probably just that addictive love of playing to a crowd and playing music with people you love.

Living in Los Angeles, Slash invited Miss Olivia to sit in with his Guns N’ Roses bandmates — which then led to further gigs. This went on for a decade until she moved to Tucson and was lucky enough to meet up with ‘the Interlopers.’

Miss Olivia & The Interlopers offers phenomenal musicianship with the forte focusing on the art of variation, deep and soulful original tunes in which we’re currently tracking in the studio. Miss Olivia gives rise to jazz tendencies where we can often improvise and stretch out song formats, allowing lots of spontaneous breath and creativity to the live set.

“What I love most about MOI is the versatility and love we share playing music live together… you can easily hear it and it really shows”.

What strategies contributed to your success?

Reardon: Our band loves each other. Hopefully, you will feel that way too when you come out to our shows, like family. Miss Olivia and the Interlopers wistfully channel both Dusty and Stevie, Bettye LaVette, and old Allman Bros.

Our music is a mishmash of styles, but at our core, we are basically a rock band. We love to play live and love that feeling of a crowd feeding off your performance.
