Today, we are interviewing Ulises Perez, the founder and president of Closure Investigative Agency in West Palm Beach, Florida. For over 20 years, Ulises has helped attorneys, business owners, and the general public in Florida find answers and solutions to help them make informed decisions. Outside of the local work, Ulises Perez and his team also subcontract from some of the largest PI companies in the United States to assist in worker’s compensation investigations, insurance fraud, and competitive intelligence.
How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?
I’ve always loved the criminal justice field. I once saw a commercial on TV about how to become a Private Investigator, and the rest is history.
Who are your role models?
Personally, my role models would definitely have to be my Stepfather and my grandmother.
What inspires you?
I am inspired by people who feel enthusiastic about their job, their life, or their family, and who convey their enthusiasm and good energy to me. Being with people who are passionate about what they do makes me feel good, and they are an example to me.

What’s your most memorable experience?
When I first opened my Agency and became a business owner.

I would say Instagram and Facebook. I do a lot of promotional work on those platforms.
What’s your greatest fear?
To be honest, there is nothing specific that I fear. If I had to choose fear, I would mention something happening to a family member. I feel as though this is a common fear. I am very close to my family, especially my 5-year-old son.”
Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?
I wish I would have started earlier.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
In my business, it’s all about “results” clients hire you to give them the Closure they are looking for. It’s my duty to provide them that Closure.
What keeps you going when things get tough?
Know Your Limits
No one can work at something difficult all the time. When your business is failing, there’s not enough money, or your children are struggling, it’s easy to focus only on that thing that is so hard. When we don’t give ourselves a break, though, we tend to lose our ability to come up with new ideas and solutions, and eventually, we burn out.
