Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Wønder, aka Gustavo Maravilla Cruz, a Mexican singer, songwriter, and music producer from West Pittsburg, California.
Hello Wønder, for those who are new here with you, let us know who you are.
Well, I’m Wønder, 23 years of age. Independent artist from West Pittsburg, California. I focus on Latin Music, Reggaeton to be exact. I produce, write, and perform all of my own music. All this started at the age of 14 but started to really put out my work in the summer of 2020.
‘Mejor Sola’ seems to be the song that everyone is gravitating to. Why do you think that is?
I think the song speaks for itself. Self-love and independence have become a huge motive and topic in music. It’s something everyone can relate to. Everyone falls in love. Everyone goes through hard times.
Who has been the biggest influence on your music and/or career, and why?
As far as music goes, my influences are growing day by day, but the one and only Tainy (Marco Masis), has taught me to play with textures and new sounds to create my own. Lex Borrero, President of NEON16, has also been a huge influence on my journey, redefining my approach to my music and image. This movement is growing day by day, but my knowledge as well.
What are the strategies that helped you get to where you are now?
Being patient, trusting your talent, acknowledging your support systems, and putting all fear aside. Fear will get you nowhere. Stop doubting yourself and your efforts because you might never know what could happen.
Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?
You can Google me! Or find my music on all streaming platforms! Wønder!
Thank you so much for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
