We had the pleasure of interviewing C. Mac, a singer and songwriter. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about yourself.

Hi, I am a musician and mainly play keyboard and piano only, but I do dabble with other instruments. I am also a bit of a writer and poet, and I used to do a fair bit of art. I make and produce all my music independently as well and am heavily inspired by the more vintage sounds and artists as far back as the fifties, sixties, seventies, and eighties. I try to make music that is relatable and has real feelings to it.

Please tell us more about your journey.

My music journey has been rather enjoyable. To me, it’s been a lot easier than I thought it would be too. I have been interested in music for as long as I can remember. Ever since I was a child, I wrote songs, sang, played the piano, and played the keyboard. I was always creative, so finally, following my dreams of doing more with it has been wonderful. I mainly do it because I enjoy it and hope that maybe even one of my songs will brighten someone’s day or give them something they can relate to. Since music can do so much for people, it’s the one thing that can always be there.

Please tell us about your music projects.

I have released quite a few songs now, mostly my own and my recent cover of “The Blues is my Business,” for which I also released a music video. A lot of my songs are inspired heavily by classic rock, blues, and soft rock. Each song I work on makes its way through the process. I am currently working on releasing more singles, my first full album, which will be mostly a vintage blues and slow rock style as well, and maybe a few more covers. I hope to have the album done by the end of the year if it all goes to plan. I already have a name for it, so it’s over halfway ready. I am just perfecting it.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

The main strategy I follow is that I do it all myself, so it’s rather relaxed and enjoyable. I guess it’s just going with my vision for a song and then being quite happy with how it turns out. And, being happy with the fact I did it, I made it my way, and some people will enjoy it hopefully as much as I have been making it. I also think the way my songs turn out is a bit different from a lot of music these days. So, it’s nice bringing something different out there into the music scene. I guess it’s also a way of getting my points of view out there or feelings about situations I have been through. If people won’t listen to me, someone might listen to my music, at least.

Any message for our readers.

My message for readers would be to believe in yourself and follow your dreams. You can be anyone you want. You are only as trapped as you allow yourself to be. So, break free and be yourself, follow your passions. Also, don’t care too much what people think. Be yourself at the end of the day because it’s only ever you who is there truly for you, and the real ones will appreciate the real you anyway, fans, friends, and friends with whatever you are pursuing; if not, you are better off without them. If you are getting into the music scene or any creative venture, I and many others can and have done it, so anyone can. Just do what you enjoy.

Fantastic! So tell us, how can people find out more about you?

I’m not really too much into social media. I’m quite old-fashioned and a bit of an introvert, but I do have a Tiktok account which is @cmacmusick.

I think I also might make others in the future, but I’m mainly out there just to share as much of my music as possible which is available on all major platforms, such as Apple, Spotify, and Youtube, simply under C. Mac. My main songs are “Lifeboat,” “Rewritten,” “The Friday Night Blues,” “Tea Song,” my cover of “The Blues is my Business,” and my latest single, “Another Stevie,” and “Before We Start Dying” a lot are really love songs. I suppose, but some have an edge to them. I’m a bit of a hopeful romantic at heart, I must say, but the world needs more love in it anyway.
