Rayon Baugh is releasing his new single, WAR CRY, an energetic, beautiful, and spiritually charged new song that is now available on all streaming platforms.

Rayon is a praise and worship gospel artist. His music is meant to honor God and to lead others in worship, showing the beauty of this world through melodies and lyrics that are full of passion, energy, and adoration.

In 2021, Rayon released the single City of God, based on Psalm 46. WAR CRY builds on this first release to create something more complete and effective, a musical experience that is sure to stay with listeners for a long time.

Rayon first felt the call of the Lord when he was just nine years old, and since then, he has not stopped being faithful. At twelve, this man also felt compelled to write songs and would use them as a way to honor his faith and God.

Over time, Rayon became recognized in Jamaica and beyond, thanks to the Jamaica Gospel Festival competition. Here, he competed in 1992 with Keep Your Feet on the Ground

In 1999, Rayon released his first album, Keep Your Feet on the Ground. This was followed by The Journey in 2005. Both albums featured original songs. Rayon has performed numerous times with other recording artists and has shared the gospel with thousands of people over the years. Keep Your Feet on the Ground, and other tracks are recognized in the Caribbean and other parts of the world. Even today, they are performed by choirs.

Rayon Baugh’s music is full of beauty and encouragement. It is spiritual music that is sure to be enjoyed by Christian listeners, who are likely to find a lot to appreciate in War Cry and other tracks from Rayon. His style is a unique mix of reggae and gospel, which is full of uplifting ideas and emotions. It is the perfect music for worship and for nurturing hope in dark days and a deeper connection to the Lord.

Rayon’s music is meant to honor God, and he believes that it comes directly from the Lord, an expression of His presence. Whenever Rayon discovers new songs, it feels like a gift from God. For instance, his previous hit single City of God draws from Psalm 46, which is all about the strength of God. Here, Rayon, who took the verses as a sign from above, played alongside the text on the piano, which moved his wife Carlene and inspired her to pray, something that echoes in the song. War Cry also develops similar themes and ideals. It is a hopeful song full of passion, vocation, and faith.

The Lord has had Rayon on a journey that has led to a pivotal moment in time. After yielding to the strong call of the Lord to write a book about the type of worship that He desires, Rayon published his first book, #ACall2Worship, in late 2019. #ACall2Worship is an inspired book that chronicles Rayon’s journey, life struggles, dreams, and visions. This book is a clarion call back to the reason why we were created and represents a practical discovery and demonstration of the type of worship that God desires.

In late 2019, he also released two singles entitled “It’s You I Worship” from the book and “My Heart Belongs to You” – powerful worship songs that will lead anyone who listens into the presence of God. Rayon Baugh’s songs, book, and ministry moments are avenues to draw people closer to the presence of the Lord and to live a lifestyle of worship.

Rayon brings his many years of experience with gospel music to War Cry, an amazing single that is sure to please Christian listeners and also resonate with those who do not share this faith. It is full of hope and energy.

Make sure to look for other pieces from this artist as well to enjoy beautiful gospel music.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Rayon Baugh. Here are the excerpts from the interview.

Hi Rayon, Great to have you with us today! Please share with our readers about your single, WAR CRY.

Hi, I believe that many of us are fighting a battle, whether internally or externally. This battle can be health-related, financial, relationship, or addiction, just to name a few. The challenges before us may seem too great to overcome, and so we become fearful. Maybe we have lost some battles along the way. We may still have the scars to show. We lost the relationship we held so dear. We lost health and financial standing. Maybe we lost hope, and our dreams and passion died. However, like Jehoshaphat and the children of Judah in 2 Chronicles 20 called upon the LORD God Almighty, and He delivered them, so we can call upon the same God, and he will deliver us. There is a sound that we can reach deep within us and CRY OUT to God. He will hear our cry. Psalms 40 vs 1-3 said, “I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

The Cry that we cry out unto our God is what I called our “WAR CRY.” This Cry invites the almighty God to fight on our behalf. The war we wage is not against our brothers and sisters but against the forces of darkness; this enemy only seeks to rob, kill, and destroy us.
