Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Linda Koroma, Founder of MamaRiseUp, a boutique stationery e-commerce site for mothers.

Please tell us about your journey.

Inspired by personal challenges as a first-time mother, I created MamaRiseUp to encourage society to help uplift moms during their most challenging times of motherhood and help the fight against maternal health. I designed a small catalog of beautiful, inspiring products to remind mothers of their strength and wisdom. Each beautiful reminder is a work of art that can be displayed anywhere for inspiration. In fact, I like to think of my products as word bouquets that speak to a mother’s soul.

What motivated you to start MamaRiseUp?

MamaRiseUp was created to support first-time moms during their most challenging times. It is a way to let them know that someone is out there for them, and they see them and their feelings are valid.

As exciting as it is for a woman to be a mother, it also a challenging journey. From carrying the child in the womb for nine months to surviving labor, and adjusting to their new life, mothers go through a lot and often feel like they are not doing enough. During this time, it is important that they know that they are seen, and their efforts are enough.

How does ‘MamaRiseUp’ help new moms?

MamaRiseUp has merchandise on their website that one can buy and send to a new mom that they know. The items they have are a great way to tell mothers that they are doing a great job.

MamaRiseUp has greeting cards that say “I see you,” “Hey Mama,” and motherhood affirmations pad. A new mom, a supportive spouse, or family member, can use the adhesive affirmation pad to place anywhere to help lift their spirits to get them through the day, or that particular moment they are in.

The founder of the company battled with maternal health issues that were preventable a week after giving birth. That’s why it’s MamaRiseUp’s goal to help the fight to ensure that all mothers and babies have the same care when giving birth.

MamaRiseUp gives 20% of their profit to nonprofit organizations that focus on this mission as well. Getting adequate care after delivering a baby is every woman’s right, and it is unfair if there are women who are not getting that same care as other mothers.

If someone wants to help, how can they contribute to the cause?

If you want to help, all you have to do is purchase a greeting card or an affirmation pad for a mom you know. Sometimes the smallest gesture can go a long way.

Furthermore, your purchase will contribute to the business’s profit that gives 20% of it to charitable organizations mentioned previously. Today’s small efforts will make a significant difference in tomorrow’s outcome.

One purchase may not seem much to you, but it will make a massive difference in someone’s life. You can help make the world better, and you can do this without so much as leaving your home but purchasing an item while sitting on your sofa.
