Today, we are interviewing Carolyn Brill, a married mother of 3. She started this business of teaching others how to save for their dreams, 2 years ago, after she quit her job as an Internet Sales Manager for a local car dealership, but she has had this skill for about 8 years now.

1. How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey?

My husband is a United States Navy Veteran, and he hasn’t been able to work due to his disabilities for some years now, so, as you can imagine, every penny counts. With prices of things increasing almost daily, there really isn’t another option.

2. Who are your role models?

My role models are the everyday people doing what they can to help out those who need it without requiring or expecting any sort of reward for doing so.

3. What inspires you?

My family inspires me to do everything I can to give them a happy and full life. We never know how long we have together, and making memories is what is important.

4. Please tell us about what you do.

Carolyn’s Brilliant Couponing Lessons is a channel on YouTube that will help out Couponers of any skill level be successful in building their family a stockpile or helping out others in need. Intro videos to different stores, how coupons work, to begin with, and even ad matchups with step by step breakdowns, so all you have to do is go to the store.

5. What’s your most memorable experience?

I currently live in California, and when we moved out here from New York, I sold my entire stockpile room. Just watching him and his son load everything out, it took them 3 hours. It just reminds me of how important having a good stockpile is. You never know when it will come in handy, and it’s easier to go to your closet or garage vs. going all the way out to the store to pay much more than needed.

6. Which social media channels work best for promoting your work? What exactly do you do on the social media channel that makes it work for you?

I have two media channels. My YouTube, where I post videos and helpful tips. I also have a Facebook community group where members get together and trade coupons, ask questions and just have overall support from other newbies like themselves.

7. What’s your greatest fear?

My family is everything to me, not being able to provide for them scares me. My stockpile gives me much peace.

8. Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

I wish I knew you didn’t have to cut everything out! Once I started keeping my inserts whole and only cut what I needed, or what was in my cart, made it so much easier. I saved time both cutting them and looking for them if they fell out of the binder.

9. What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Just keep trying is the only thing that will make you better. It is a learning skill, and you’ll always be learning. You’ll never know it all.

10. What keeps you going when things get tough?

When things get tough, I just think about how far I’ve come and how, without this skill, things would be so much different for my family and me.

11. Any message for our readers.

This isn’t something you will learn overnight. It will take months of trials and errors. Talking with your stores and learning their policies as every store is just a little different. Slow and steady wins the race, it applies here too.

12. How can people connect with you?

People can come subscribe to the YouTube channel at Carolyn’s Brilliant Couponing Lessons to get themselves started. If they want to check out on Facebook, it’s the same name, just make sure you join the Facebook community group and not simply like the business page. All the support is in the community group.
