Today, we are interviewing Vedant Sangit From Regtech Times. He is a Certified Anti Money Laundering Expert and a Regtech Evangelist. He is also an upcoming Script Writer and loves to write both professionally and as a hobby. He co-founded Regtech Times, which is the leading news portal on regulatory technologies in the world in 2017.

How did you get into what you do right now? Please tell us more about your journey.

I used to work for Riskpro Management, which provides Forensic Accounting services. For one year, I practiced and led Forensic Accounting Investigations. In 2017 I came across an article about Regtech i.e., Regulatory Technology. There I got an idea to start our own Portal, which provides the specific news, articles, and expert views related to the Regtech domain. Regulatory compliance is a complicated and boring domain, but the advent of technology is making it fascinating. First, we did considerable research on the term Regtech i.e., Regulatory Technology. It included the study of various factors like changing dynamics in the world economy, development of technology, arrival of new technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. We also studied various developments in the regulatory compliance sector. Finally, we decided to launch a News Portal, which is very specific to the domain i.e., Regulation and Technology.

Who are your role models?

My role model, as of now, is Riskpro’s Director – CA Mayur Joshi. He is the founder of India’s biggest risk education company and the brand Indiaforensic. I love his dynamic business mind, knowledge, intelligence, and dedication to the growth of his company. Mayur is one of the finest forensic accountants our country ever had.

What inspires you?

Regtech Times is my dream, and I want to grow it as the news portal with millions of eyeballs daily. This dream of reaching out to millions keeps me on my toes daily. As of now, 2020 is a year inspiring me a lot, unlike the others. I have faced some hard-hitting challenges in this Pandemic 2020, which changed my way of thinking. To overcome any challenge is itself a challenge. That’s how you grow. That’s how you get inspired to work with full force.

Please tell us about your venture.

What’s your most memorable experience?

Every media company, when it starts aim to get approved by Google news, it was my first target. It’s a critical process in the journey of the media venture. I have given more than a year to get approval from Google news. It helped me to understand how Google works and looks at the media. This was one of my most memorable experiences. Monetization of media ventures is another challenge that we are trying to overcome.

How are you using different social media channels/online marketing to market your work?

Social Media has become an integral part of the business. Every business burns a lot of funds on Social Media to get the presence felt, which ultimately results in conversions. For Regtech Times, any social media is a gold mine. As of now, we tap our audience through Facebook, Twitter, and Linkedin. Various campaigns on different Social Media sites has helped us to garner the traffic. Right from Keyword analysis to Google Adverts, we have gone through different experiments to expand our horizon.

What’s your greatest fear?

My greatest fear, as of now, is ignorance of challenges. One should not ignore any challenge or a problem rather than face it with full force and power. Covid-19 lockdown posed a big challenge before the world. However, we established the mechanism to make it operate from home, and we saw a 200% jump during this lockdown in viewership. Ignoring the challenge of the Covid-19 lockdown could have finished us. Hence, I believe that ignorance is scary.

Looking back, what’s one thing you wish you understood better before you ever got started?

Absolutely nothing. If a person understands all or any significant things before starting, the person will not learn. Many times people want to understand all the things as they are not ready to face failure. But in reality, failure is the one to teach us, to make us sharp to motivate us. The more failures you face, the less you will fear the upcoming challenges. It is a learning process necessary to develop ourselves as nobody is born perfect. It is only a succeeding time that makes us perfect.

What keeps you going when things get tough?

The first thing is support from my loved ones makes me strong enough, and the second is Patience. These two things keep me going when things get tough.

Any message for our readers.

Due to the global COVID situation, I urge all to STAY SAFE AND SOUND. Face your challenges, and don’t be afraid of your failures.

How can people connect with you?
