A young mother, and a high school dropout shares her success journey! Here is the story of Tanya Ward, Owner of Alief Financial Services LLC.

Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Tanya Ward, owner of Alief Financial Services LLC and a nonprofit organization called Dinkys Angels Inc. 

Hi, Great to have you with us today! Please tell us about your journey.

Being a mother at 16, dropping out of high school, and getting my GED, this journey has been well worth all my learning pains! I really enjoy helping people obtain their life’s short and long-term goals. 

Please tell us about what it is that you do.

My role is as a financial advisor or consultant. I have been running my company for the past 9 years now. I assist my clients in a variety of financial areas. Financial literacy, credit building, and business development and funding!

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

I know now at 43, everything I went through was to mould me for my journey to be successful. Life isn’t supposed to be easy because I feel you wouldn’t appreciate it as much. When you have to work hard, lose sleep, go through disloyalty with friends and family, all of that is to make you wiser.

Business is good, and I’m am grateful because I’ve been through a lot to get to where I am. Keeping in mind that I have no other option but to be a leader and an example for my children! I had to show them that educating yourself, making your own rules to follow, and never allowing anyone to put limits to what you accomplish in life, no matter what comes your way! 

Any message for our readers.

I want people to know that you don’t have to feed into what society says you are or need to be! Statistically, I wasn’t supposed to make it! I had everything against me! 

Teen mother, high school dropout, arrested a few times! 

I was never supposed to a six-figure business owner! 

I was never supposed to have employees! 

I was never supposed to be a leader with the cards I was dealt.
