Today, we have the pleasure of interviewing Joy R. Richardson, an upcoming model. He has a good following on Instagram as a public figure.
Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us about what it is that you do.
I was born on August 13th, 1998. I am looking to get signed in the city of Los Angeles. I began school at the New York Film Academy in August for acting.
What inspired you to get into modeling.
My passion for modeling derives from my ability to tap into feminine energies. It is common for many guys to act manly and too righteous to simply take pictures in the way that they want to take them. When I think of modeling, I, of course, pay homage to both male and female models and actors. Still, the first thing that comes to mind is how powerful women are when it comes to making modeling one of the loveliest arts.
I want to show other males around me that love for these things does not define sexuality in any way. When I began posting pictures of myself, I went through many obstacles on social media with people I thought were my friends now calling me homosexual because I decided to take glamorous pictures with a flower crown.
Men will never reach the next level in life without tapping into their feminine energies. I want to spend a career highlighting that art has no gender, and people should highlight what they personally love through their art without persecution. The most rewarding part about what I do is being able to bring to life the ideas that I have tucked inside my head. It’s almost as if every shoot I finish becomes a new part of me that I hold dear to my heart.
Please share some of your accomplishments with us.
My favorite accomplishment was being about to bring to life my favorite childhood movie ‘Kill Bill‘ and put my own personal twist on it. Before I began modeling, I started a clothing site known as Joy Lifestyle Wear which I still manage. It started as a note to myself that the emotion of joy would be something that I would choose every day in the life. After going through my own personal mental health struggles, I wanted to make it clear to the masses that a lot of mental battles are overcome simply within yourself.
My greatest success, I believe, is bringing to life my daughter Ivy Lynne Mafnas-Richardson. Named after a song by favorite artist Frank Ocean. My passion for music has played a huge role in many decisions I’ve made in life, spanning from my ink work and tattoos to the name of my first child. Launching my clothing brand was also an amazing accomplishment to me because it was something that I thought I wouldn’t be able to do.
What are your plans for the future?
In the future, I plan to do similar mental health positive work through my modeling and acting. I want my audience to know that I am a prior military man who never gave up on my original passions for arts. Although I had my mental battles while in the service, my persistence to my true passions led me to where I am today.
