We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do. 

My name is Darren Jenkins, but I go by Fresco instead of Darren usually. Fresco is like my artist name and pen name really, and it represents a new beginning for me. I’ve been gone from the creative scene for a while, but I’m back with a new outlook and love for it again. I’ve been an artist, writer, and graphic designer since I was a teenager, and I’ve been drawing and painting since I was a child. 

Please tell us about your Book. 

The book is scheduled to be released in July. Zealots of Eternal Dreams: At Last, or Z.O.E.D. Part 1 is the first part of a sci-fi trilogy. The gist, without spoiling anything, is that it’s about the last of an ancient, shapeshifting alien race that was revered as “gods” by humans for centuries, as they solve the mystery of the murders of their own kind and the destruction of their home planet. But as they grow closer to solving things, they learn things are deeper and intergalactic than they thought.

Please tell us about your journey.

Well, as I said before, I’ve been away from all the writing, drawing, painting, and everything I’ve done since I was 7 years old. I became less and less invested in it while juggling real-life stuff, basically, ha, ha. It’s just the creativity of it all; I’ve always loved finding ways to put my ideas and visions on a sheet of paper or a monitor screen. That’s just a fact, regardless, and eventually, I guess, over the past few months, I’ve been rejuvenated in a way, and it’s a lot of things I want to create for others to see and learn about.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

Perseverance, passion, the humbleness to really seek out knowledge in your craft, and really just a desire to create more again, like when I was younger in my teen years. I wanted to be that version of myself again, and the bottom line for anyone is that you have to really want to succeed.

I hope they enjoy the work I felt needed to be released, and I have 1000% gratitude for anyone who took time out of their day to learn about mine. The details of the book aren’t populating in marketplaces yet, but I am in a “rare form” kind of mode right now, ha, and I don’t see the fire going out anytime soon. Therefore, from now until 100% is complete, I will be sharing updates and teasing details for the book on my social media, along with my art and comic projects I’m working on. Even when details for the book begin to populate, you will learn more about it through my social media as the days go by.
