In a world where financial struggles are all too common, Leasia Ezeogu brings a fresh perspective to the conversation around money management. As a seasoned financial coach, senior accountant, and author, Leasia understands firsthand the challenges that come with achieving financial stability. Her two books, Finance Glow: Your Path to Financial Empowerment and Adesua’s Big Adventure: Learning About Money, serve as essential guides for both adults and children looking to build a secure financial future. Through her engaging, easy-to-understand approach, Leasia provides readers with the knowledge and tools they need to take control of their finances.
Finance Glow: A Pathway to Financial Empowerment for Adults
Leasia’s first book, Finance Glow: Your Path to Financial Empowerment, was born from her desire to help others navigate the often-complicated world of personal finance. This practical guide is filled with clear and actionable advice that empowers readers to make informed decisions about their money. The book is especially timely, as nearly 40% of Americans struggle to cover an unexpected $400 expense without borrowing money or selling something. Finance Glow aims to change that by equipping readers with the financial knowledge needed to face life’s challenges with confidence.
Understanding the Fundamentals
In Finance Glow, Leasia covers the basic principles of financial literacy, helping readers understand concepts such as budgeting, saving, and investing. She begins by breaking down essential financial ideas, making them accessible to anyone—whether they’re a beginner or have some experience managing money. From balancing checkbooks to differentiating between savings accounts and investment accounts, the book simplifies what many find confusing or overwhelming.
Leasia’s writing style is conversational, ensuring that readers never feel bogged down by financial jargon. She uses relatable examples and clear explanations to demystify personal finance, allowing readers to absorb the information at their own pace.
Mastering Budgeting and Saving
A significant focus of Finance Glow is on budgeting and saving strategies. Leasia walks readers through the process of creating a personalized budget that reflects their individual financial situation. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution, she encourages readers to tailor their budgets to their needs and goals, providing them with practical tools and systems that can help them achieve financial stability.
Leasia’s advice on saving is both realistic and actionable. She offers readers strategies for building an emergency fund, which is critical for weathering financial storms. Her approachable style makes it easy for readers to understand why saving is essential and how they can start developing healthier financial habits.
Simplifying Investing
Investing is often seen as a daunting prospect for many people, but Leasia takes the fear out of it. In Finance Glow, she offers readers a simple introduction to the world of investing, explaining how to grow wealth through stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. By breaking down complex topics into bite-sized, digestible pieces, she makes investing less intimidating and more accessible for the average person.
Throughout the book, Leasia emphasizes that financial empowerment is not about perfection—it’s about making informed choices that lead to better outcomes. Her goal is to give readers the confidence they need to take charge of their financial future.
Adesua’s Big Adventure: A Fun Introduction to Financial Literacy for Kids
In her second book, Adesua’s Big Adventure: Learning About Money, Leasia turns her attention to younger readers, introducing them to the basics of financial literacy in a way that’s both fun and educational. The story follows Adesua, a curious young girl, as she learns about earning, saving, spending, and sharing money. With colorful illustrations and an engaging narrative, this book is the perfect way to introduce children to important financial concepts at an early age.
Teaching Money Management Through Storytelling
Adesua’s journey begins when she receives a small allowance from her parents and starts to wonder how she can use her money wisely. Through everyday activities like helping with chores and saving in a piggy bank, Adesua learns the value of money and how to make smart financial decisions. The book’s use of storytelling makes these lessons relatable and engaging for young readers, ensuring that they remain interested in the subject matter.
As Adesua’s parents guide her through budgeting using simple jars labeled ‘Save,’ ‘Spend,’ and ‘Share,’ children are introduced to the concept of balancing their finances. This method is not only effective but also easy for kids to grasp, making it a valuable tool for teaching financial literacy at a young age.
Encouraging Generosity and Financial Responsibility
One of the key messages in Adesua’s Big Adventure is the importance of generosity. As Adesua learns to manage her money, she also discovers the joy of helping others. When she helps her friend Tunde buy a book, Adesua realizes that money can be used to make a positive impact on those around her. This heartwarming lesson teaches children that financial responsibility goes beyond just saving and spending—it’s also about sharing and making thoughtful choices that benefit others.
Leasia’s goal with this book is to instill in children the foundational principles of financial literacy in a way that’s both engaging and memorable. By starting financial education early, she hopes to equip the next generation with the skills they need to manage their money responsibly as they grow older.

We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:
Hi, Please introduce yourself and tell us about what you do.
Hi there! I’m Leasia Ezeogu, a financial coach, author, and senior accountant. I’ve had the opportunity to work with one of the largest public accounting firms in the world, but what really excites me is helping everyday people take control of their finances. Through my business, Finance Glow Coach, I offer resources like budget templates, books, and one-on-one coaching. My goal is to make financial literacy accessible and practical, so people can build a secure and prosperous life for themselves and their families.
Please tell us about your book.
My book, Finance Glow: Your Path to Financial Empowerment, is something I’m really proud of. It’s a guide that breaks down the often intimidating world of personal finance into simple, actionable steps. I wrote it with the everyday person in mind — whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been managing your finances for a while, there’s something in there for you. I also wrote a children’s book called Adesua’s Big Adventure: Learning About Money because I believe it’s never too early to start learning about money. It’s a fun story that introduces kids to basic financial concepts in a way that’s easy to understand.
Please tell us about your journey.
My journey into financial coaching started with my own struggles and successes in managing money. Working as an accountant gave me a solid foundation, but I quickly realized that there was a gap between what people know about money and what they need to know to truly thrive. That’s what pushed me to start Finance Glow Coach. Writing my books was a natural next step — sharing what I’ve learned in a way that’s accessible and, hopefully, inspiring to others. It hasn’t always been easy, but seeing the impact on people’s lives has made it all worth it.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
For me, success has come from a mix of personal discipline, the willingness to learn, and a genuine desire to help others. I’ve always made it a point to practice what I preach – whether it’s sticking to a budget or setting financial goals, I live by the advice I give to others. Another key strategy has been staying adaptable. The financial world is always changing, and I’ve learned to adjust my strategies and advice to keep up with those changes. But at the core of it all, my focus has always been on people. Understanding their unique needs and challenges has been the most important factor in building this business and writing books that resonate.
Any message for our readers
My biggest message is this: financial empowerment is possible for everyone, no matter where you’re starting from. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by money matters, but taking small, consistent steps can lead to big changes over time. Don’t be afraid to start wherever you are –whether it’s setting up a budget, learning about investing, or just getting more comfortable with your finances. And remember, it’s okay to ask for help along the way. You’re not alone in this journey.
Thank you so much, Leasia, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
