Dee Phillips’ Groundbreaking ‘From Chaos to Calm’ Is Every Christian’s Stress-Relief Guide

Ever felt like you’re running on empty, juggling a dozen spinning plates while life throws curveballs? You’re in good company.

Modern life often feels like a relentless whirlwind—work deadlines, family drama, financial stress, and that nagging voice whispering, “You’re not enough.” It’s easy to drown in the noise. But what if you could trade that chaos for calm, not by escaping reality, but by grounding yourself in something unshakable? Dee Phillips’ From Chaos to Calm: 8 Steps to Stress Relief and Serenity Through Christian Journaling isn’t just a book; it’s a companion for anyone tired of feeling tossed by life’s tempests. Let’s explore how this guide can help you build an anchor—one page at a time.

When Life Feels Like a Hurricane

Chaos doesn’t knock politely. It barges in—a missed promotion, a fractured relationship, a health scare—and suddenly, peace feels like a distant memory. Many of us cope by scrolling mindlessly, binge-watching shows, or numbing out, but those Band-Aids never stick. Dee Phillips gets it. She’s been in the trenches, navigating betrayal, loss, and seasons where God felt silent. Her journal was her lifeline, a place to pour out anger, doubt, and grief while clinging to Scripture. Now, she’s sharing that lifeline with others.

A Journal That’s More Than Pages—It’s a Sanctuary

Most journals start strong, then fizzle out. From Chaos to Calm flips the script. Imagine a blend of cozy coffee chat, prayer closet, and art studio. Here’s the twist:

  • Bible Verses That Hit Different: Forget random inspirational quotes. Each Scripture is a flashlight for dark moments.
  • Prompts That Feel Like Therapy: Dee’s questions cut deep but gently. “What lie about yourself do you need to surrender today?” or “Write a letter to God about what hurts—then let Him reply.”
  • Creativity as a Spiritual Practice: Doodle prayers, color a psalm, or craft a gratitude collage. These aren’t just artsy distractions—they’re acts of worship that quiet a racing mind.
  • A Roadmap, Not Rules: The 8-step framework feels like a friend walking beside you. Step 3 might have you mapping your “emotional weather,” while Step 5 teaches you to reframe anxiety with faith-filled affirmations.

This isn’t about perfection. Spill coffee on the pages. Scribble in angry red ink. God meets you right there.

Walking the Path with a Guide Who’s Been There

Dee Phillips isn’t a preacher on a pedestal—she’s the friend who shows up with chocolate and a listening ear. After her own marriage crumbled and grief left her reeling, she turned to journaling as a raw, honest dialogue with God. “I wrote my way back to hope,” she shares. That authenticity bleeds into every page of her book.

One reader put it this way: “It’s like Dee sits across from you, nodding and saying, ‘Me too. Now here’s how we’ll get through this.’”

What Makes This Journey Different? Spoiler: It’s Sustainable

Plenty of books promise peace but leave you with vague mantras. Here’s what sets From Chaos to Calm: 8 Steps to Stress Relief and Serenity Through Christian Journaling apart:

  1. It Starts with Honesty: Before fixing anything, Dee invites you to name the storm. Is it fear? Regret? Spiritual numbness? No judgment—just grace.
  2. Scripture as a Sword: You’ll learn to wield verses like weapons against anxiety. Instead of spiraling over finances, you’ll declare,
  3. Small Steps, Big Shifts: Daily entries take 10-15 minutes.
  4. Community Without Pressure: Though designed for solo reflection, Dee encourages sharing insights with a trusted friend or small group—because healing thrives in connection.

The goal isn’t to “fix” you. It’s to help you rest in the One who already holds your story.

Your Turn: Building a Life Anchored in Calm

Chaos might not vanish overnight. But with this journal, you’ll have tools to navigate it differently. Picture this: A tough day hits, and instead of doomscrolling, you open your journal. You scribble a prayer, cling to a promise, and somehow, the storm feels smaller.

Dee’s message is clear: You don’t have to white-knuckle your way to peace. Serenity isn’t about calm circumstances—it’s about closeness with Christ. And that’s a journey worth taking.

So, grab a cozy blanket, your favorite pen, and let From Chaos to Calm be your guide. The waves might keep coming, but you’ll finally have an anchor.

We had the privilege of interviewing the author. Here are excerpts from the interview:

Thank you so much for joining us today! Please introduce yourself and tell us what you do.

Hello! My name is Dee Phillips, and I’m an author, faith-based journal creator, and an advocate for personal healing and transformation through Christian journaling. My passion is helping women navigate life’s storms with faith, resilience, and creativity. Through my writing, I aim to provide a space where women can release their burdens, reconnect with God, and rediscover their inner peace.

Please tell us about your book.

My book, From Chaos to Calm: 8 Steps to Stress Relief and Serenity Through Christian Journaling, is a devotional journal designed to help women find peace amid life’s challenges. It’s not just a journal—it’s a guide, filled with scripture, reflection prompts, and creative exercises that deepen intimacy with God. I wrote this from a very personal place, having walked through seasons of heartbreak, uncertainty, and loss. This journal is an invitation for readers to process their emotions, release their fears, and embrace God’s healing through intentional journaling.

Please tell us about your journey.

The last few years have been some of the most challenging of my life. I faced a painful betrayal, the loss of a beloved pet, job layoffs, and an unexpected season of rebuilding. It felt like everything was falling apart at once. I struggled with anxiety, doubt, and a sense of worthlessness. But in the midst of it all, I turned to God and found solace through journaling. Writing became my sanctuary—a way to process my pain, express my faith, and find clarity in the chaos. That’s why I created this journal, to help other women experience the same breakthrough and peace that God gave me.

What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?

• Faith First – I had to learn to truly surrender my worries to God and trust His plan, even when things didn’t make sense.

• Journaling as Therapy – Writing daily helped me process my emotions, pray with intention, and release my fears onto paper instead of holding them in.

• Community & Support – Surrounding myself with people who encouraged me in faith and healing made all the difference.

• Resilience & Self-Care – I had to prioritize my mental, emotional, and spiritual health, learning when to rest and when to push forward.

• Purpose Over Pain – Instead of being consumed by my struggles, I channeled them into something meaningful—this book is proof that beauty can come from brokenness.

Any message for our readers?

To every woman who feels overwhelmed, lost, or unsure of what’s next—know that God sees you, loves you, and has a plan for your life. The storm won’t last forever. There is peace on the other side, and you don’t have to walk through it alone. Take a deep breath, open your heart, and allow God to bring you from chaos to calm.

Thank you so much, Dee Phillips, for giving us your precious time! We wish you all the best for your journey ahead!
