About the Author: Gino B. Bardi

Author-Gino-B.-Bardi

Gino B. Bardi, born in the bustling city of New York in 1950, grew up on the picturesque South Shore of Long Island. His journey into the literary world began at Cornell University, amidst the fiery Vietnam War protests of 1968. There, he pursued a degree in English/Creative Writing, laying the groundwork for what would become a prolific career. However, post-graduation life took him on a path filled with varied experiences, as he delved into a range of writing and business ventures far from his initial aspirations.

For over four decades, Bardi crafted a diverse array of written works, from advertising copy and magazine articles to loan pitches and short stories. His professional life was equally eclectic, as he managed a commercial printing company in Upstate New York, where he also embraced the roles of husband and father to three daughters. Over the years, Bardi’s life experiences enriched his writing, imbuing it with humor, depth, and a touch of irony.

Eventually deciding to eschew the cold winters of the North, Bardi sold his printing business in 2008 and moved to the Gulf Coast of Florida, where he now focuses on writing humorous fiction. His home office is a testament to his approach to life and writing, adorned with two telling signs: “Bad decisions make good stories,” and a piece of advice from Mel Brooks, “You only need to exaggerate a LITTLE BIT.”

Bardi’s literary debut, “The Cow in the Doorway,” won the Royal Palm Literary Award for best unpublished New Adult novel in 2015, marking a promising start to his novel-writing career. His anthology, “Three on a Match,” features a collection of short stories that blend truth and fiction in measures that are both entertaining and thought-provoking. The stories explore a myriad of relationships—from those between people to the connections we share with animals and even appliances—demonstrating Bardi’s unique ability to find humor and humanity in the most unexpected places.
