Hi, this book is one of a trilogy that encourages anyone who works with young people. The other books are ‘Mentoring Minutes, Weekly Messages to Encourage Anyone Guiding Youth’ and ‘CHOICES, Encouraging Youth to Achieve Greatness.’ The books are a collation of lifetime experiences as an educator and youth mentor program developer.
Please tell us about your journey.
I have had the privilege of having 13 books published. I also had the privilege of teaching in four countries in multicultural environments. After working through a cancer experience as a young boy, I was motivated and inspired by many teachers, coaches, and others who came alongside me during different seasons of my life. My aim is to give back to communities and share all my experiences with the knowledge that there is a significant need for mentors of young people in a post-pandemic global community.
What are the strategies that helped you become successful in your journey?
My Christian faith, a supportive family, self-discipline, being teachable, the gift of being an encourager, teamwork, a multitude of leadership experiences that equipped and guided me, finding mentors to guide and support me, being goal-oriented, having a great sense of humor and empathy; willing to take calculated risks; good planning and management of time.
